Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@LEEn@ GOHmez was born July 22, 1992. She is an American singer, actress, and producer. Gomez's acting career started on the popular children's television series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). She became famous as Alex Russo, a teenage character in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). Gomez was also featured in several films that included Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also appeared in Ramona and Beezus (2010) and Spring Breakers (2012). She was also a voice actor for Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez was the executive producer of Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020), and Undocumented (2018). Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. Gomez also produces and appears in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu comedy show Only Murders in the Building (21-21). The latter series earned Gomez critical praise, and nominations for a Golden Globe Award, and as producer as well as the Primetime Emmy Award . Gomez was a part of Selena Gomez & the Scene and released three albums. Each album was in the top ten of the US Billboard 200. They were all certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Stars Dance (2013) was her first solo album. Billboard 200, while its lead single, "Come & Get It", reached the top ten spot in the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album Revival (2015), debuted at number one in the US, was certified platinum by the RIAA and produced three US top ten singles: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". The album that she released her third studio album, Rare (2020), became her third consecutive number one in the US, and its lead track, "Lose You to Love Me" was her debut number one hit across the US and Canada. The album was released Revelacion in Spanish, which was a big hit and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. The singer has been recognized with numerous awards and was named Billboard's Female of the Year in 2017, and she also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people around the globe in 2020. She has a massive following on social media and is the most followed actor and musician on Instagram. Gomez's other ventures include makeup, clothing, handbag and fragrance lines. She has collaborated with numerous charities and has served as an UNICEF ambassador since the age of 17.
