Allison Chinchar works as a forecaster of weather for CNN as well as HLN. She has a presence in CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. The station meteorologist was employed as the meteorologist of local stations in Atlanta, Nashville and Chattanooga before joining CNN. She has covered everything from blizzards to hurricanes flood events, wildfires. She was awarded an Emmy nod for her coverage of Dorian, the hurricane that struck the Bahamas in 2019. Dorian which struck the Bahamas in the year 2019. The coverage she provided of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, in which over 350 tornadoes were recorded in the Southeastern United States over a time period of four days, 200 of these taking place on April 27, was nominated as well to win an Emmy. Due to her experience in environmental science she has also reported on volcanoes, earthquakes, and other natural disasters along with news about climate change. Chinchar is a graduate of the Bachelors of Science in Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
