Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn into a low-income family that would ultimately consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her life through her vivid and broad imagination. Before she could read and write she began to compose the songs she wrote herself. After getting her first instrument at age of 8, she began to perform on radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. Her first album was recorded during the same year on Gold Band Records, a small label that was an independent. In high school she made herself known to the school community but her dream was greater. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her two first charting albums from Monument Records. At about this time Porter Wagoner was looking for a new girl singer for his television show that was syndicated. Parton began her career in 1967 she signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Parton quit the Wagoner's band in 1974, when her solo hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene outsold the collaborations. Following their breakup, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it debuted at the top spot at No. For the first time, in 1974.
